If Paris is the city of light, Vienna is the city of music. That does not mean, however, that Vienna is bereft of light. In fact, the light is best in Vienna, at the very time you will be visiting, in July. Vienna is the city of music, because when one thinks of Vienna, one thinks of its waltzes, its concerts, and its opera. There is no question that Vienna has earned its place among the great cities of the world.
You will have occasion to explore the culture, art, architecture, history, and traditions of Vienna, fueled by possibly the best coffee in the world, and in the most memorable caf茅s of the world.
The program offers an Honors course in Art History, benefitting from the world-class museums and collections Vienna has to offer. The Honors course on Politics will concentrate on the events centered on Vienna, which literally changed the course of history from Roman times to the 20th century. You will visit the very sites where battles were fought and peace treaties were signed. Both courses are taught by Vienna native professors with intimate knowledge of the city and what it has to offer.
Due to the central location of Vienna, you will be able to take weekend trips to neighboring countries and cities with ease. At the program鈥檚 end, Prague, Budapest, Bratislava, Venice, Salzburg and Munich are but a few hours away, and beyond them, all of Europe awaits.
